La sinergia entre el hombre y la maquina estan comenzando a confundirse, y la linea que separa la biologia y la tecnologia ya empieza a ser borrosa. Nos encontramos en un momento critico de la evolucion humana, una era en que los nuevos avances tecnologicos se encuentran indisolubles con el progreso, los humanos cada vez se parecen mas a las maquinas, y viceversa. Con animacion 3D y efectos especiales, 'Mas alla de lo humano' recoge el testimonio de inventores, cientificos y filosofos para realizar un viaje sin precedentes al futuro de la bioingenieria y la robotica. 'Robotica' en este episodio explora el sorprendente mundo de la robotica. Nuevos descubrimientos acerca de la estructura y la funcion del cerebro humano estan permitiendo a los ingenieros diseñar entes artificiales tan similares a los humanos, que puedan aprender, moverse y pensar como nosotros. Cientificos de renombre, pensadores y escritores de ciencia ficcion hablan sobre las posibilidades de un paisaje poblado por 'gente' artificial que estan preparados para trabajar para nosotros, pero como afectara a nuestras vidas un mundo lleno de maquinas conscientes?.
